Leo Soeda
has established himself as a prominent cellist in the NY/NJ area, and has performed all over the United States, and internationally, as a classical soloist, rock cellist, chamber musician, and as an orchestral cellist. He has collaborated with internationally renowned artists and groups, such as Atarah Valentine, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Misha Piatigorsky, Wonny Song, Damien Rice, Louis XIV, Nicole Atkins, Nathaniel Rosen, Shauna Rolston, Alondra de la Parra, Charles Niedich, etc. and has performed along sides with artists of New York Philharmonic, Minnesota Orchestra, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, St. Lukes Chamber Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, faculties of the Juilliard School, Mannes School of Music, and Manhattan School of Music.
He has also written and arranged music for the Atlantic Records, and theme music for radio shows, and for numerous artists and ensembles.
He is now a dedicated cello instructor and a youth ensemble director. His approach is unique, yet on point, and customized to each students’ and ensembles’ needs, utilizing his vast experience as a classical cellist, rock cellist, and as a writer. His students have been accepted into the Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Special Music School, etc. and various regional orchestras.
